HARDFEST 2011 IS NEARING, WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS SATURDAY???

HardFest summer 2011 is coming up this week in Los Angeles at the infamous Los Angeles state Historic Park in Downtown LA, and I will be there, yet again. Headliners include: RATATAT, SKRILLEX, and Chromeo, all live and on stage! Last year was intense, as the friend I went with was arrested for carrying certain illegal objects on his person. The day was characterized by rentacops, LAPD in poorly made disguises(undercover cops) and every candy kid's rave gear being confiscated(thrown into a trashcan) before they were granted admission into the festival. Hardfest is a rave done in a more festival manner, during the day as opposed to night.
While tickets are now a whopping $75, you may still be in luck! Try scalping your ticket at the event's gate, just as I did. I was able to sell my extra ticket last year to a man who bought in cash. I hope to buy my ticket this way, since there were several others selling their tickets in this manner.
I had fun last year, but this year is going to be drama free. :D I will take home many photos, and maybe even a young prostitot to snuggle with in my humble abode.
Courteous of Digitalism and Dillon Francis- here's a mix they will be playing at the festival. Its free to download and listen. :)

A lazy summer Saturday.

Long regarded as the spark of the new folk revival, Sufjan Stevens is an artist to be held in high respects. Hailing from a dreary lonely place called Detroit, Michigan, he writes acoustic songs and often adds electronic beats over them. Ending in a harmonic indie folk albums adhering to themes of the Bible and real life tragedies. Just listen to a rare track by him, and you'll hear the magic of a man at one with his guitar.

A tribute to a newer progressive house legend...

Born Joel Zimmerman on January 5, 1981, DeadMau5 rose to prominence when his foremost track 'Faxing Berlin' found its way onto the playlist of legendary DJ/Producer Pete Tong's radio show. Deadmau5 soon became an important figure in the world of progressive house music, with his tracks appearing on more than 15 compilation albums.

On May 1, 2008, Deadmau5 became the most awarded deejay/producer/remixer of the Beatport Music Awards. He was named "Most influential, forward-thinking and relevant person" by Beatport. He was also named "Producer of 2007" by DJ Mag's 2007 Top 100 winner Armin van Buuren, and by runner up Tiƫsto. Enjoy this track- one of his more popular beats.

Dada Life + David Guetta... looks like it might be a great summer day(AKA Go outside!)

Well this day looks like it's off to a great start so far- eggs and garlic for breakfast, and I got a head start on the laundry. Gotta do it early in the day so the clothes can dry during the hottest part of the day(life without a dryer, etc). I may or may not go to the beach tonight, but here's hoping I do...
Also, to answer someone's  question on my last entry, the rainbow guy isn't a nyan horse; its a nyan wolf. :3 I use him to enunciate the mp3 downloads :) Dunno about you, but I can't wait to go outside in the Los Angeles sunshine!

A breath taking view of DUBSTEP...

Often times, Djs and electronic music artists will release rare demos of their songs. These rare works in progress are sometimes more enjoyable than the released promo and are sometimes even longer.  Either way, it's fun to hear and listen for the differences. This track by Hospital Bomber really takes the cake. n___n

In pertinence to Bass Cadet;

Are you just a dubstep lover? or do you like other kinds of EDM?

To answer your question, I like all forms of electronic dance music. :) Here's a tune that isn't dubstep, it's one of my latest obsessions. Boy is it catchy! Right click your mouse over the link and 'save page as' for free mp3.

International Baccalaureate- An Educational, Intercultural Approach for Teaching Young Children

“The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young

people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and

respect. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and

lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be

right.—International Baccalaureate Mission Statement” ["IB Learner Profile". IB Learner Profile

Booklet. ibo.org. November2008.

Founded in 1968 in Geneva, Switzerland, this certain European educational curriculum has it’s

own roots enter-twined with several pillars of modern day education. The United Nations Educational,

Scientific and Cultural Organization (or UNESCO) are perhaps the most famed organization. Highly

esteemed throughout the majority in Europe, UNESCO is well known for it’s teaching facilities that vary

in continental location just as they do subject matter. For example, UNESCO International Institute for

Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC) is located in Caracas, Venezuela. In

such a tumultuous time in the age of globalization and civil unrest, this educational institution aims to

provide reliable tertiary material for it’s South American populace.[1] Other subject matter for schools

schools include water education and theoretical physics. While the International Baccalaureate is not in

use in all of UNESCO’s schools, it is indeed being used in many institutions for different levels of

learning.

As a curriculum, the International Baccalaureate’s content could be seen in it’s content as

‘scattered’, but it’s goals are clearly outlined. It’s implications for education may vary due to the two

different variations of the IB curriculum. For the sake of simplicity, this research paper will focus on one

type of the curriculum; International Baccalaureate ‘Theory of Knowledge’ or ‘TOK’. The TOK

emphasises different areas of knowledge and ‘ways of knowing’.

Curriculum Outline:

Ways of Knowing:
  • Sense Perception
  • Reasoning
  • Language
  • Emotion

Areas of Knowledge:
  • Natural Sciences
  • Human Sciences
  • Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Ethics
  • History

These are the different areas of knowledge as listed by the International Baccalaureate’s curriculum. They serve as the implications for learning in an IB accredited school. This curriculum may

be used for any grade Pre-K through High School. While the Ways of Knowing may seem the most age

appropriate for young children in Preschool or Kinder-garden, the Areas of Knowledge may also be

just as age appropriate if presented in a manner simple enough for children to understand. The

IPC(International Preschool Curriculum) describes the IB’s curriculum as “Partnering to raise global

standards in education.”[2]

To anyone concerned...

I've never really liked where I lived. Growing up in Los Angeles was rough. Hot weather, beaches, and fun raves are all good things, but the worse aspects are all the more encroaching. Lack of jobs, illegal immigrants, and a dangerous crime rate are just the tip of the ice berg.

My home town of Whittier used to be a nice place. But that was before I was born. Illegal immigrants made our schools full of illiterate children who couldn't read, write or sometimes SPEAK English. As a child, I was forced to teach these Mexican children to read during my precious class time. Even during my classes, my teachers would sit me next to completely illiterate Mexican kids who reeked of urine and often said derogatory things to me. The government placed Section A housing all around my elementary school, and the apartments were terrible places to be raised in. These children were often housed in the same apartment spaces and shared things. One of my childhood friends, Azelea, rode to school pushed in a shopping cart with her mother. Her baby sister sitting in the designated baby seat.

I still live here in Whittier and the crime is incredible. Just 2 nights ago, someone was stabbed by my friend Charles's house. This won't make the news- not the mainstream local news, anyway. No violent crimes are ever reported in the mainstream media because the Government wish to portray this city as something it's not- some kind of safe suburb, but believe me, it's far from that.

I have failed to find a job on my countless excursions throughout the area. All my life, I have never found a job in my own town(except as a teenager, I was assigned a job through LA department of youth services, and I worked for minimum wage at my own high school). I've applied to more than 100 places, and not a single call back ever. I have tried to follow up on these supposed 'openings' after I have given in my application, only to be told by workers there "We have many applications right now. Lots of people has applied here." All the places I am able to apply to are full of Mexican immigrants or their children. My lack of income is dangerous and has cost me many opportunities. I have tried to get on foodstamps but I could not. I did qualify... but why was I told I could not get foodstamps?

I did not have children. And I am white. In order for me to get foodstamps, I would have to do community service at the designated service area. Without a car, I could not risk not making the service hours, because I could be put in jail for not cooperating with the law. If I had children, I would not have to do community service for food stamps. If I was not white... I would have food stamps easily and without effort.

I know that some readers of this journal may find ways to denote my validity and state other wise, but this is what I was told by the people at the welfare office here. When people say America is a bad place to be white, I know first hand. 'Minorities' get so much here it's ridiculous. California is dictated by the government, who only want the destruction of families. They use oppressive tactics to ruin good suburban neighborhoods by over running them with sex offenders, illegal immigrants, and free government housing. To anyone looking to move to California, please.... I beg of you. Do your research. Things are very expensive here, and jobs are few and so very far between.

/RANT. Thanks for reading, even if you don't agree with everything I said.
