LE CASTLE VANIA- AT ESCAPE WONDERLAND!!

Le Castle Vania is an electronic dance music project created by Atlanta-based DJ Dylan Eiland. Eiland began DJing at warehouse parties and raves in Atlanta at age 16 after playing in some traditional rock bands and unsuccessfully attempting to master the drums. Eiland uses a simple setup, including a laptop computer, a mixer, and two turntables. He writes his songs on his laptop, often while traveling on airplanes, and prefers to play a larger number of his original work compared to his remixes.

stuffing the mushrooms

alright mother lovers, in lieu of flogging electro music to death in this blog...I am going to show you something a smidgen different; how to make your own stuffed mushrooms.

These mouth watering appetizers are sure to please your friends or family at any shindig you throw, or even just satisfy a craving of your own. The ingredients are simple enough- you should have all of the things needed for preparation. Just buy some decent white mushrooms for this one.

Ingredients:

12 whole fresh mushrooms
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Carefully break off stems. Chop stems extremely fine, discarding tough end of stems.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and chopped mushroom stems to the skillet. Fry until any moisture has disappeared, taking care not to burn garlic. Set aside to cool.
When garlic and mushroom mixture is no longer hot, stir in cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, onion powder and cayenne pepper. Mixture should be very thick. Using a little spoon, fill each mushroom cap with a generous amount of stuffing. Arrange the mushroom caps on prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the mushrooms are piping hot and liquid starts to form under caps.

These go best with a squirt of lemon juice if you have any. Bon appetit!

It's a "Beautiful" day...

Today i would like to introduce you to a fairly unknown bass and drum duo; Brookes Brothers. They will be playing at Escape From Wonderland this year!! Hailing from London all the way from the United Kingdom, they enjoy making a higher caliber of drum and bass, not just focused on rhythm but soul as well. Just listen to tracks like 'Snowman' and you will see why they have such a collective of fans.

Paypal donations are still needed if you would like to help me purchase a ticket to the event! My paypal is lycheemilk@gmail.com.

FUCK YEAH BUDDY.

Escape From Wonderland, an Insomnia event is coming soon! October 29th marks the event's first Halloween themed rave, and with head liners like ATB and Benny Benassi, who could resist?
I myself would like to go, but I haven't the funds necessary. If you would like to donate a few bucks towards my ticket to paradise and dance music, my paypal is lycheemilk@gmail.com.

In return, here is some free music!! All this week I will be featuring free downloadable tracks from the event's line up. Here is AN21, an electronic dance artist. He is known for inspirational remixes, with such a fresh take on pop songs. I love his rendition of La Roux and Ellie Goulding. I hope you do too!

Marina and the Diamonds

Marina and the Diamonds is a one girl band. A singer/ song writer hailing from Wales, she exemplifies beauty and femininity. This is her first ever hit, and very trippy music video. You can tell her talents as a vocalist from her choir- perfected vocal range. Every fluctuation is intended and sounds perfect. Its no exaggeration that I have turned a few of my close friends on to Marina, and they became even more enamored with her than I.

Blitzen Trapper, an underground hit.

Portland, Oregon based musical ensemble Blitzen Trapper is part country, part electro, part indie and 100% awesome. I personally love this music video as it entails a fable of one man's rage and how he commits murder in coldest of blood. You won't regret watching the video for "Black River Killer". For all its Old Time language and Blitzen Trapper's south western accent, this is an excellent song with great acoustics and rhythm.

C'MON GUYS, SHOW SOME $UPPORT!

Here are some treasures of mine. I love these tracks, more so the La Roux remixes. I'm really hungry and I wanna make a sandwich with black beans in it. This  Black bean grilled cheese sandwhich recipe should do the trick.
Thanks for your continued support guys. If any of you are feeling generous, please pimp my blogspot in your next blog entry! <3 I could use some followers that support and comment, ya dig?

WAVVES + WARPAINT = LOVE

Thanks for the follows, new friends! To commemorate this new following, Here's some cool indie tracks!!
Wavves is a trendy new indie garage band that reeks of amateur awesome. A refreshing jam band indeed.
Warpaint is a local favorite! These girls are fighters, and a true part of the art-rock revival. The band consists of Emily Kokal (vocals, guitar), Theresa Wayman (guitar, vocals), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass, vocals), and Stella Mozgawa (drums). They hail from my town, Los Angeles.

SOULWAX MIXES ARE IN!!!

Soulwax, headed by David and Stephen Dewaele, are an alternative rock/electronic band from Ghent, Belgium. Next to the Dewaele brothers, Soulwax consists of bassist Stefaan Van Leuven and drummer Steve Slingeneyer. They were first noticed after the release of their album Much Against Everyone's Advice. But after that the Dewaele's started focusing on their other projects such as The Flying Dewaele Brothers and 2manydjs, but also hosting a show on Belgian television, 'Alter8'. Since the release of their Nite Versions album they have been touring around the globe, almost non-stop.
Here's some free downloads of the band, featuring my favorite guys- Crookers. Enjoy!

Ohhh baby I love your way~...

Here's a band everyone should at least be aware of- Sweden's 'The Knife' made a new side project band a couple years ago by the moniker of Fever Ray. Very entrancing, I love Karin Dreijer Andersson's enigmatic voice. Her Swedish accent is profound and gives depth to each word sung. The whole album tells a tale of paranoia and fear in the bustling dark city. But it can't all be so glum... after all, 'We Share Our Mother's Health', right? ;)

Dubstep tunes for the day, BAR 9 collective!

Today I'd like to share an excellent dubstep collective, such as Bar 9. Hailing from the United Kingdom, a group of aspiring music artists mix and match the illest of beats. Truly, a force to be reckoned with. My favorite tune from them has to be 'Strung Out'. Aptly named, it owes the violin clip from a song on 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. Very ill.

Emily Haines from Metric is a total babe

Metric is a female- fronted indie new wave band from Canada(eh?). I am in love with Emily Haines' voice and lyrics. I would label her voice as 'melodic cerebral' and enigmatic. Her lyrics are about feminist issues and the trivialities of being female. Plus the remixes by Masterkraft and The Twelves ain't bad either. Enjoy a more rare acoustic version of Help I'm Alive. :)

"Here I am expecting just a little bit too much..."

It's hard to be so full of upbeat techno when your life seems sorta.... Insignificant. Amirite? Regardless of my inner struggles, have some ear sex thanks to APC. I just love the violin vignettes serenading in and out the entirety. By far, the second best Perfect Circle song, right after 'Weak and Powerless'.  <3

LET THE LAZERS ENSUE!

Ah yes. I remember when I saw Major Lazer live last year at Hard Fest 2010. It was splendid, 'Drop The Lime' was a favorite tune of theirs which they accordingly performed. I recall candidly when one of the duet climbed a rafter pole on the stage claiming "I WANNA KILL EVERYONE!" Oh what a happy time for us all ;)

MOOMBAHTON= Electro reggaeton dance fusion

Moombahton is a genre of electronic dance music likened to reggaeton and dutch house fusion. The name is taken from American DJ Dave Nada from his song 'Moombah' and 'ton' added in the way of reggaeton. In case you don't believe me(and I can't make this shit up) here's two tracks to clue you in.

Dave Nada- Wonderful day
Nicki Minaj- Moment 4 Life (Morrison's moombahton remix)

Not so bad, right? :D Ghetto fabulous.

EDIT: Last night I went out with my friends to a strip club, but before we left, my friend Charles showed me this pic he snapped while I wasn't looking.
Does this make him a creep? Haha, it's all in good nature.

WOOOAAAAAA

Sorry for the delay on posting guys, it's been a busy past couple of days for me. I sadly did not gain entrance into HardFest this summer, because scalpers were asking $150 per ticket and I couldn't shell out the dough :( Even a pretty girl like me couldn't sweet talk them down to 60 bucks, haha. There were many scantily- clad Kandy damsels never the less; lots of butt cheeks hangin' from panties, exposed cleavage, etc.

But on the bright side, school is coming up and I can't wait. I am in biking distance to my community college, so I just need to pick up a sweet set of wheels from my parent's backyard to enjoy the freedom of aerobics before class. Also, here's a couple mp3s for your listening pleasure ;) Excuse my long absence in return, sweet hearts. <3

HARDFEST TOMORROW!!!!111 EeEeEeEe

Looking forward to many of these acts tomorrow, one unique artist will be spinning his wonks- Emalkay. an English dubstep DJ from Birmingham. The stages last year were in a disarray, and being completely outside, had little to keep sound from fleeing or escaping the stages. Here's a mix Emalkay may be sharing with us tomorrow. I for one, can't wait. My outfit is ready for the show, and I may even take pics of it tonight to share with you... Just be sure to pay me back with some clicks, lol. Enjoy~<3

Here's some Ratatat for ya!

I have preparing myself for HardFest 2011 this Saturday and I am SUPER excited. All this week, I'll be featuring artists who I'll be seeing there :3 Ratatat is an experimental- electronic duo from New York. They love laying down beats, and remixing other indie artists' tracks as well. I hope they are as good live as they are on my speakers, that's for true.

HARDFEST 2011 IS NEARING, WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS SATURDAY???

HardFest summer 2011 is coming up this week in Los Angeles at the infamous Los Angeles state Historic Park in Downtown LA, and I will be there, yet again. Headliners include: RATATAT, SKRILLEX, and Chromeo, all live and on stage! Last year was intense, as the friend I went with was arrested for carrying certain illegal objects on his person. The day was characterized by rentacops, LAPD in poorly made disguises(undercover cops) and every candy kid's rave gear being confiscated(thrown into a trashcan) before they were granted admission into the festival. Hardfest is a rave done in a more festival manner, during the day as opposed to night.
While tickets are now a whopping $75, you may still be in luck! Try scalping your ticket at the event's gate, just as I did. I was able to sell my extra ticket last year to a man who bought in cash. I hope to buy my ticket this way, since there were several others selling their tickets in this manner.
I had fun last year, but this year is going to be drama free. :D I will take home many photos, and maybe even a young prostitot to snuggle with in my humble abode.
Courteous of Digitalism and Dillon Francis- here's a mix they will be playing at the festival. Its free to download and listen. :)

A lazy summer Saturday.

Long regarded as the spark of the new folk revival, Sufjan Stevens is an artist to be held in high respects. Hailing from a dreary lonely place called Detroit, Michigan, he writes acoustic songs and often adds electronic beats over them. Ending in a harmonic indie folk albums adhering to themes of the Bible and real life tragedies. Just listen to a rare track by him, and you'll hear the magic of a man at one with his guitar.

A tribute to a newer progressive house legend...

Born Joel Zimmerman on January 5, 1981, DeadMau5 rose to prominence when his foremost track 'Faxing Berlin' found its way onto the playlist of legendary DJ/Producer Pete Tong's radio show. Deadmau5 soon became an important figure in the world of progressive house music, with his tracks appearing on more than 15 compilation albums.

On May 1, 2008, Deadmau5 became the most awarded deejay/producer/remixer of the Beatport Music Awards. He was named "Most influential, forward-thinking and relevant person" by Beatport. He was also named "Producer of 2007" by DJ Mag's 2007 Top 100 winner Armin van Buuren, and by runner up Tiƫsto. Enjoy this track- one of his more popular beats.

Dada Life + David Guetta... looks like it might be a great summer day(AKA Go outside!)

Well this day looks like it's off to a great start so far- eggs and garlic for breakfast, and I got a head start on the laundry. Gotta do it early in the day so the clothes can dry during the hottest part of the day(life without a dryer, etc). I may or may not go to the beach tonight, but here's hoping I do...
Also, to answer someone's  question on my last entry, the rainbow guy isn't a nyan horse; its a nyan wolf. :3 I use him to enunciate the mp3 downloads :) Dunno about you, but I can't wait to go outside in the Los Angeles sunshine!
