 Here's a band everyone should at least be aware of- Sweden's 'The Knife' made a new side project band a couple years ago by the moniker of Fever Ray. Very entrancing, I love Karin Dreijer Andersson's enigmatic voice. Her Swedish accent is profound and gives depth to each word sung. The whole album tells a tale of paranoia and fear in the bustling dark city. But it can't all be so glum... after all, 'We Share Our Mother's Health', right? ;)

Dubstep tunes for the day, BAR 9 collective!

Today I'd like to share an excellent dubstep collective, such as Bar 9. Hailing from the United Kingdom, a group of aspiring music artists mix and match the illest of beats. Truly, a force to be reckoned with. My favorite tune from them has to be 'Strung Out'. Aptly named, it owes the violin clip from a song on 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. Very ill.

It's hard to be so full of upbeat techno when your life seems sorta.... Insignificant. Amirite? Regardless of my inner struggles, have some ear sex thanks to APC. I just love the violin vignettes serenading in and out the entirety. By far, the second best Perfect Circle song, right after 'Weak and Powerless'.  <3

Looking forward to many of these acts tomorrow, one unique artist will be spinning his wonks- Emalkay. an English dubstep DJ from Birmingham. The stages last year were in a disarray, and being completely outside, had little to keep sound from fleeing or escaping the stages. Here's a mix Emalkay may be sharing with us tomorrow. I have preparing myself for HardFest 2011 this Saturday and I am SUPER excited. All this week, I'll be featuring artists who I'll be seeing there :3 Ratatat is an experimental- electronic duo from New York. They love laying down beats, and remixing other indie artists' tracks as well. I hope they are as good live as they are on my speakers, that's for true.

Born Joel Zimmerman on January 5, 1981, DeadMau5 rose to prominence when his foremost track 'Faxing Berlin' found its way onto the playlist of legendary DJ/Producer Pete Tong's radio show. Deadmau5 soon became an important figure in the world of progressive house music, with his tracks appearing on more than 15 compilation albums.

On May 1, 2008, Deadmau5 became the most awarded deejay/producer/remixer of the Beatport Music Awards. He was named "Most influential, forward-thinking and relevant person" by Beatport. He was also named "Producer of 2007" by DJ Mag's 2007 Top 100 winner Armin van Buuren, and by runner up Tiësto. Enjoy this track- one of his more popular beats.
